The movie ends with the killing of the thalapathy Jalatharangan by madhraveeran and saving his grandfather from jail. on the way he save the vedhalams princess Manthagini( Shruti hassan), this give him a opportunity to easily get into vedhalam fort, the queen Yavanarani (SriDevi) ruled the kingdom from their only. on the way he is captured by small peoples and then they help marudheeran for finding the way to vedhalapuram. inorder to get his lover he is going to vedhalapuram to rescue his lover from vedhalam.as he was shown as a human he was accompanied by a magic liquid which will turn him into a vedhalam for a limited peroid and two of his village people kodangi(thambi ramaiah) and sama(sathyan). and killed his adopted father when trying to defend the blackmail. then the movie goes as usual with songs and love scenes until vedhalam warriers comes to the village and took pavazhamalli to vadhalapuram. As he growns the child was sent to town for her studies and come back as pavazhamalli(shruthi hassan) who was welcoomed by the Marudheeran(Vijay) due to request made by her father. This incident lead one of the village neighbour girl of him to fall in love with him as he hit the warrier when htey try to misbehave with that child. The baby then was founded by a village chief vumbunathan( Prabhu) and was raised during the childhood as his adopted father's hand was cutted by vedhalam warriors,his hate on vedhalam came prodominent, because of this at an incident he hits a vedhalam warrier for which his sister blamed himself inorder to save him, and she is murdered by vedhalam warriers for misbehaving. he is being escaped with the help of talking birds who were humans and transformed into birds becuse of a punishment spell.
when thalapathy ordered to kill the boys too. the 2nd vijay character was the prince's son. the thalapathy made a plan and killed vijay. because of this hinderance made by vijay. The villian role is given to sudeep as thalapathy Jalatharangan who wish to rule the kingdom and he always toture the humans citizens for geting high amount of ransom, the father vijay become to know of this situation and he defend his kingdom peeple from the jalatharangan. The 1st character of Vijay is a prince of the Vedhalam king and he is very much concerned about the human race that his father rules.
